A program for middle, and high school students, designed to teach the rich heritage, accomplishments, and culture of African Americans. Civic organizations and churches formulate student teams who are then provided a researched-based resource packet to prepare for elimination and final rounds of Quiz Bowl competition.
Black History Quiz Bowl Cover Contest
The Cover Contest allows middle and high school students the opportunity to showcase their artistic abilities by submitting a historically significant drawing to the Quiz Bowl committee. Any medium can be used (pencil, ink, charcoal, or watercolor) and the paper should be no larger than 9 x 12. The first place winning submission will serve as the cover for the following year's Black History Quiz Bowl Resource Packet. Prizes are awarded to the top three submissions. Winners are announced at the final round of the competition.

Black History Cover Contest Winners
The winner of this year's 2008 Black History Cover Contest is Chelsea Jo Frye of Page High School. She will receive a prize of $50. Stefon Waters of Northeast Guilford High School is the 2nd place winner and will receive a prize of $25. Frye's cover will be used for the 2009 Black History Quiz Bowl Resource book.
