Our children are the
promise of the future. With your help, together, we can help give
them a solid start for a better tomorrow.
Dear Prospective Member,
As a vital and productive member of the Guilford county community
since 1979, the mission of Black Child Development Institute of
Greensboro, Inc., has been to give African American children a
chance for the bright future they deserve. A multifaceted agency
with an agenda to promote and protect the well-being of African
American children, BCDI-G responds to African American children's
needs with programs and initiatives that are based on their strengths.
At BCDI-G, our organization is driven to replace the one-size-fits-all,
deficit-oriented paradigm with initiatives that serve children
based on their strengths and needs, programs that assist children
and families who are experiencing challenges in the areas of early
care and education, health, parenting, education, and child welfare.
Not only is BCDI-G reaching out to African American children; we're
connecting with children in ways that make a difference. Since
we opened our doors 27 years ago, BCDI-G has grown tremendously
and more families and children have sought to utilize the resources
we provide.
As a member agency of the United Way of Greater Greensboro, our
strategic vision is building a community that cares, and to continue
our successful tutoring and mentoring programs while expanding
our work with parents and the community to ensure the finest
quality of life for the children we serve.
We need your help! Won't you consider joining our organization?
BCDI-G serves as a resource to people who are professionally
and personally committed to children and families. We need your
time, talents, and expertise. We hope we can count on your support
today to help us improve and protect the quality of life of our
children.
We still have miles to go, promises to keep in the new millennium.
And with your help, we can help our youth have a brighter future.
Thank you for your consideration.
